Yamuna : When we passed the stables in Tittenhurst garden, Srila Prabhupada said, “Do you see them? There are more ghosts here than anywhere.” “I don’t see any, Srila Prabhupada.” He continued on, “There are so many ghosts here; they are all around us. They were persons who were very attached to the nice quarters here and didn’t want to leave. It is very common for them to linger on in a place that they were much attached to.“
We had already been made aware of problems with ghosts at Tittenhurst Manor, especially in their moving furniture and knocking things about at the Tudor Lodge. There were two guests of John and Yoko who had very violent experiences with ghosts, which were creating a great disturbance.
So Srila Prabhupada sent all the devotees there for chanting Hare Krishna. And the kirtana went on for many hours, and after that kirtana the ghosts evidently left. Srila Prabhupada said that ghosts are not able to stay where there is the chanting of the names of Vishnu or Krishna.
