Prabhupada commands love

Prabhupada commands love

Lokanatha SwamiIt is not by predictions of sastras or by some legislation that Srila Prabhupada can most securely be accepted and established in a unique, exalted position. These are insufficient. In fulfilling the predictions in the scriptures about the appearance of an extraordinary person, the Lord does all the necessary follow-up. He sends the most qualified personality, decorated with all the qualities of a pure devotee, to be the acharya. And indeed Srila Prabhupada is a most extraordinary person. Without a doubt, he exhibited all the characteristics of a soul totally surrendered to the Lord.

If we look at the list of qualities possessed by a pure devotee, we can see that Srila Prabhupada had them all to a superlative degree. He had compassion for all living entities. He had unshakable faith in Krishna and pure attachment to satisfying His desires. He was completely free from desires for name, fame, and glory. Not a single trace of lust, envy, or greed could be found in him. His humility was a gem. His determination was ironlike.

His patience was infinite. His humor was sweet and sublime. His kindness was all-pervading. His enthusiasm was boundless. He was expert, silent, poetic, forgiving, and detached. He was a great spiritual master, an accomplished Vedic scholar, and a pure, confidential servant of Krishna.

One who examines Srila Prabhupada’s qualities will find it clear why Srila Prabhupada commands such love and following. Sincere persons recognize him at first glance as the Lord’s empowered messenger.
