When Lord Caitanya was a small baby He would cry, and He just wouldn’t stop crying. 
Jagannātha Misra and Śacīmata brought a doctor— they brought so many other people—but nobody could figure out what was wrong. Then some ladies started to chant, “Haribol! Haribol! Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare.”
Immediately Lord Caitanya stopped crying. He was laughing and clapping His hands. “Oh, this is the secret, when we chant harināma you stop crying?” Then they got up and started walking away. “Wah, wah,” He started crying again. Then they had to go back and start chanting again, “Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare.” Then He stopped crying.
They found that they had to keep chanting whenever He was awake, otherwise He would cry. So like this, kīrtana was kept going on around the clock. Even as a baby the Lord was propagating the holy name.
