Hari Sauri: On March 10, 1976, around eight coaches arrived carrying about 350 devotees from North America. Several sannyasis – Tripurari, Vishnujana, Gurudasa, Revatinandana, and Parivrajakacarya – were among them. Many of the new arrivals are being housed in the new building, where construction work has now stopped. The first-floor level has been cast, and Jayapataka Maharaja has arranged for temporary shelters made from split bamboo and tarpaulins to be erected on top of the bare concrete. The facilities are woefully inadequate. The devotees have to bathe from hand pumps, and the toilets are simply holes in the ground, but they don’t seem to mind. They are happy just to be here in the holy dhama with Srila Prabhupada.
