Bhaktivedanta Swami moved into a storefront called Matchless Gifts on Second Avenue and slowly began lectures on Bhagavad-gita on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 7 and 9 p.pm. Many youngsters joined the program and the numbers gradually increased. His new followers were helping him and they shared his spirit of trying to get people to chant Hare Krishna and hear Krishna consciousness.
