As pointed out by Prabodhananda Sarasvati Thakura (a great devotee of Lord Chaitanya), the desire to merge into the Brahman effulgence (kaivalya), is just like going to hell. (So merging into the Brahman effulgence or liberation is despised by all Vaishnavas. It is not their ultimate goal. Their goal is to eternally serve the Lord.)
